While I love Western workwear as much as the next woman, I also believe that workwear for women doesn’t need to be Western to be smart. For those of us who love Indian options and would like to use them to work smartly, here are my fusion options when it comes to workwear for women. As someone who has newly entered the workplace, I’m having fun being creative with my clothes, and thought I would share some interesting options here, for women of all ages.

My first look is a combination of Western workwear for women combined with the traditional. I would pair these simple and sober white earrings with a long kurti and Rajasthani flats – these would make you comfortable as well as fashionable in your office. With this you can also combine a bracelet and you are good to go!

Long kurti

White stone earrings from Zephyr

Faux leather Rajasthani flats

The second look I’ve put together is all about Western fashion with a little touch of traditional workwear for women. A Palazzo with a long or a short kurti goes a long way in office. It is comfort with style. A palazzo won’t make you uncomfortable even a little bit with your long working hours; and of course, Deepika Padukone in Piku made Palazzo with long kurtis and flats a fashion in India! This look is a must try.

Simple bracelet for work

My third look is around flared Rajasthani skirts and kurtis with flats. Skirts never go out of style and especially the Rajasthani ones. These skirts can be paired up with long traditional earrings as well and also with a short kurti. Nothing can go wrong with these skirts!

Simple white kurti

Classy flats

The fourth and the last look I love is all about black – a colour that never goes out of style. A black net Palazzo with a net Kurti and some bangles is a perfect combination of Western with Indian. If you are comfortable wearing heels all day, go ahead; else, stylish flats can never go wrong.
