8 Quick Facts About Satyadeep Misra, The Man Whom Masaba Married Recently

Recently, Masaba Gupta put up an IG post letting the world know that she married Satyadeep Misra, whom she was dating for a couple of years, in a private ceremony.

Fashion designer and Netflix star Masaba Gupta announced to the world the happy news of her wedding with Bollywood actor Satyadeep Misra on Instagram. She took to the social media platform to share two soft, dream-like pictures of them from the ceremony attended by their small, close-knit circles.

In the Instagram post Masaba mentioned that she “married my ocean of calm, this morning. Here’s to many many lifetimes of love, peace, stability & most importantly laughter”. She wore a custom-made #RaniCore lehenga from House of Masaba’s bridal collection which was created to represent and celebrate the union of tradition and freedom and to share her belief that the institution of marriage is not at odds with women’s agency to follow her hearts or share her thoughts.

Her family, including her mother Neena Gupta, her father Vivian Richards and step-father Vivek Mehra, as well as Satyadeep Misra’s mother Nalini Tyabji and sister were present for the early-morning ceremony. Masaba shared a picture of them all mentioning how they make up her ‘beautiful, blended family’.

One: Masaba Gupta and Satyadeep Misra’s story blossomed from the sets of Netflix’s Masaba, Masaba Season 1 where they first met. He went from Masaba’s reel ex-husband to real husband in these intervening years.

Two: He was also seen in other recent projects like the 2022 film Vikram Vedha as a senior inspector, in thriller series Mukhbir: The Story of a Spy (2022) as a spy and also in Tanaav (2022), an action thriller series streaming in Sony liv.

Three: Born in 1972 in Dehradun, he is an alumnus of the Doon school in Dehradun. Other notable alumni from the school who are associated with the film institute include actor Ali Faizal and directors Sudanshu Saria and Ashvin Kumar. He did is BA in History from St. Stephen’s college and then completed a law degree from the Univeristy of Delhi.

Four: With an experience in practising corporate law and a brief period of employment with Indian government, Misra moved to Mumbai in 2010 to launch a career in acting in Bollywood.

Five: Early in his career he bagged an impactful role in the film No One Killed Jessica (2011), which was his debut role, making an impressive entrance into the industry. He was also seen in movies like Chillar Party (2011), Ferrari ki Sawaari (2012), Bombay Velvet (2015) and Phobia (2016).

Six: Satyadeep Misra is the son of Nalini Misra Tyabji, the acclaimed self-taught, mixed-medium artist, from her first husband. She later married Hindal Tyabji, who brought up her children as his own. Satyadeep Misra is hence a nephew of Laila Tyabji, founder of Dastakar. and the grandson of Suraiyya Tyabji, credited with designing India’s Tiranga, by his mother’s marriage.

Seven: He was married to Bollywood actor Aditi Rao Hydari between 2009 and 2013 but even after the dissolution of their marriage, they remained close friends.

Eight: Satyadeep Misra and Masaba Gupta dated for a couple of years before tying the knot and they would be frequently seen together on social media and public events.
