As a young CEO in the healthcare industry, what were the key strategies you employed to overcome the challenges of being in a male-dominated field and establish yourself as a game-changer leader?

As a young CEO in the male-dominated healthcare sector, I prioritized staff training and development to address the shortage of healthcare professionals. Then implemented a complimentary ward system at Prayag Hospital to offer free-of-cost healthcare services to Below Poverty Line patients and only charging for medications.

Additionally, we established holistic healing centres to raise awareness about preventive healthcare measures. To improve accessibility, we educated patients about government healthcare schemes such as Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, and Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana.

You have been actively involved in women’s empowerment initiatives and have organized free camps for acid attack victims. How has this work impacted you personally, and how do you see it making a difference in the lives of these survivors?

My involvement in women’s empowerment and organizing free camps for acid attack victims has been profoundly moving. It strengthened my commitment to integrate women’s rights within healthcare and provided specialized support for female staff and patients.

Witnessing the struggles of acid attack survivors inspired me to stand for them and offer medical attention, counselling, and a safe space for healing. These camps empower survivors to overcome trauma, foster resilience, and reintegrate into society, making a tangible difference in their lives.

One of your visions is to provide 5 thousand new jobs through the new hospitals you are building. How do you plan to create opportunities for young professionals in the healthcare industry and encourage them to join this noble field?

We firmly believe that the hospital sector not only brings financial prosperity but also serves the community’s welfare. With our expanded facilities, we aim to cater to a larger patient base, offering specialized medical care that necessitates recruiting additional doctors, nurses, technicians, and support staff.

To attract young professionals and encourage them to join this noble field, we have designed a comprehensive approach. We will invest in robust training and development programs, equipping them with necessary skills and fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Mental health has become increasingly important, especially after the challenges posed by the pandemic. Can you share your perspective on the role of holistic approaches, such as yoga and meditation, in addressing mental health issues?

Certainly, the challenges brought about by the pandemic have underscored the crucial role of mental health. Holistic approaches like yoga and meditation offer valuable tools in addressing these issues.

These practices emphasize a mind-body connection that can help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. Yoga combines physical movement with mindfulness, promoting relaxation and a sense of well-being.

Meditation cultivates self-awareness and trains the mind to manage negative thoughts and emotions. By fostering inner balance and resilience, these approaches contribute significantly to enhancing mental health in an increasingly complex world.

The Indian healthcare industry has experienced significant growth, and you aim to take Prayag Hospital to a global level. What steps do you plan to take to expand the hospital’s reach and influence beyond India’s borders?

Prayag Hospital aims to go global by establishing fully equipped clinics in Dubai and Uzbekistan. After a trial period, we’ll refine our services and expand to other countries, adapting to their unique healthcare needs and regulations.

Leveraging technology, we’ll ensure seamless collaboration between our international clinics and India headquarters.

Strong partnerships with local healthcare organizations and governments will enable us to provide comprehensive and sustainable solutions. With a patient-centric approach, innovation, and continuous improvement, Prayag Hospital is determined to make a positive impact on the global healthcare industry and improve lives worldwide.

With the rapid advancements in technology and changing patient expectations, what do you foresee as the biggest challenges and opportunities for the healthcare industry in 2023?

The healthcare industry is undergoing a dynamic shift due to rapid technological advancements. As the sector grows, embracing innovative technologies such as AI, IoT, and robotics offers the potential to revolutionize patient care and diagnosis.

This transformation also places emphasis on preventive healthcare, promoting wellness and reducing the burden on the system.

However, alongside these opportunities, data security remains a crucial challenge. Safeguarding sensitive patient information in an increasingly digital landscape is imperative to maintain trust and compliance with privacy regulations.
