Book Launch Of “Thus She Spake – A Creative Telling of Mythology”

"Thus She Spake" is a book of five tales from the hallowed pages of mythology, carrying the timeless ethos of the feminine muse, some of them voiced for the very first time.

A year long literary endeavour by members of the ALL Ladies League Karnataka Chapter, led by Dr. Suchitra Kaul Misra  and RajaRajeshwari Nagasigamani, culminated in a high octane book launch at Women Economic Forum – WEF Delhi on 12th April 2019 followed by a mesmerizing book launch at Bangalore’s charming literary hub Atta Galatta, Koramangala on Saturday 13th April 2019.
It was an enchanting event that saw the coming together of the five “Thus She Spake” authors and illustrator Bharati Sagar. Soon the quaint little book shop was filled with an eager audience.
Dr. Suchitra welcomed the diverse audience with an introduction about All Ladies League and the making of the book.
The anthology book “Thus She Spake” is an ‘ALL Ladies League‘ initiative driven by the ALL Karnataka Readers and Writers Chairperson RajaRajeshwari Nagasigamani
The stories are penned by below mentioned authors:
  • Dr. Suchitra Kaul Misra – Chairperson for ALL Karnataka Chapter and Founder of the Healing Garden,
  • Anu Krishna – Chairperson for ALL Karnataka Coaching Chapter and Founder of WordWeave,
  • Sandhya Kunjur – Marketing, Advertising & Communications Professional,
  • Dr. Chaya Nair – Paediatrician and Founder of Banjara Toastmasters Club & Chrysanthemum Gavel Children’s Club and
  • RajaRajeshwari Nagasigamani (writing as A.R. Sara) – Chairperson for ALL Karnataka Readers & Writers Chapter and Founder of WildBean Coffee and ArsaraFables.
It is Edited by Chaya Dronamraju – Founder of The Talent Bridge and ViceChairperson for ALL Karnataka Readers & Writers Chapter, and Illustrated by Bharati Sagar – Renowned international Artist
“Thus She Spake” is a book of five tales from the hallowed pages of mythology, carrying the timeless ethos of the feminine muse, some of them voiced for the very first time.
It is a book that carries the power of collaboration, imagination and expression by a team of seven from All Ladies League, Karnataka Chapter with the support and wishes of the ALL Ladies League Sisterhood. The team gave in to their passion and lent their imagination and literary voice in bringing to life five different women protagonists from mythology by delving into the worlds the characters inhabit.
The panel discussion commenced with the authors providing tantalizing glimpses of their feminine muses from mythology spanning Ramayana, Mahabaratha and Puranas, that had inspired their respective stories, while Bharati Sagar shared her artistic journey in bringing to life the characters and special scenes in the stories with her illustrations.
The book was launched in traditional style by acclaimed actress and Mohini Attam dancer Sreedevi Unni and Dr. Suchitra with the lighting of lamp.
Sreedevi Unni enthralled the audience with an impromptu dance performance to match the literary vein.
An interactive discussion with the audience followed, conducted by Anu Krishna.
A stimulating discussion ensued that saw energetic participation by both men and women as they explored various women characters from mythology that they would like to see expressed through the literary medium.
The event ended on a high note as most of the limited edition author signed copies were sold out in a jiffy. An ALL member referred to the book as “A beautiful literary dream collaboration come true.”
