Lavanya Nukavarapu

A dew drop on the leaf of life, Lavanya Nukavarapu describes about herself through this one-liner. She is a Finance Professional passionate about the art and craft of writing. If metaphors and imagery are the mojos in her poetry, it is narration in her prose, manifested in the several short stories and poems published in various journals and platforms. She published her first book Bare Thoughts, a collection of her poems, in 2018. In 2019, Lavanya published her first novel, The Captive, a psychological thriller. In 2020, Cigarettes, Sex, Love, a coming-of-age contemporary story was published. Her recent work in 2021 is, Strutting Lightbugs, a supernatural thriller on gender angst, dance and culture co-authored with Kalam Babu. A research paper on Bare Thoughts, "The 21st Century Perspectives in the Poems by Lavanya Nukavarapu" was presented in February 2020 by Prof. Saumalya Mali of Saldiha College, Bankura (W.B.) at the seminar "Recent Trends in Indian Women's Literature" organized by Midnapore College, Midnapore, West Bengal.
