In a recent event, the High Court has allowed a woman to divorce her husband for shaming her and calling her 'kali- kaluti'. It is time, the society stops shaming a women for her skin-colour.

We've laughed with them, we've cried over them - now, from Cinderella to Coco, let us examine whether our beloved children's movies go on to pass the Bechdel test or not. 

Being dark skinned, brown skinned, wheatish, etc. are considered the biggest negative in an Indian woman. This was all nonsense, as I discovered for myself.

We tend to compliment our daughters on their looks as a default - if we want them to grow up confident women, we need to re-think this!

Is the only way to compliment girls by saying they look pretty/cute/like a princess? It sets them up for failure by telling them their looks are superior to their selves!
